Stretch key for Buffalos

Khanmohamed converted a three point play the old fashion way to give the Buffalos a 56-55 lead with just under 2:00 minutes to play.
Thurgood Marshall (14-16) (6-6) handed the Clement Rangers their 12th district loss in as many tries, 63-56 Saturday afternoon at Hopson Filed House.
Down by 5 at the half, Marshall fought back against the no die Rangers to keep their playoff hopes alive. Clements looked more like an 11-0 team giving the Buffalos fits the entire game. Fighting for every lose ball, forcing turnovers and trading baskets with the Buffalos through out the game.
“Well we started off kind of flat, I don’t know if senior day had something to do with it or a little focus was lost.” “We started off real flat.” “Anytime you play in this district it’s going to be a dog fight.” “If you don’t have your A game who ever you play, it’s going to be a dog fight.” “They have a good team, they have played everybody well, (Clements) they just haven’t been able to finish,” said Marshall’s Coach Gary Nichols.
With the win Marshall’s playoff hopes are still alive and have increase thanks to Hightower’s 47-45 victory over Travis this evening at Wheeler Field house.
The Rangers (3-12) (0-12) didn’t help their cause with a couple of late turnovers
Thurgood begin the third quarter with a 5-0 run that tied the game at 31. After that point the game would seesaw the rest of the way.

Much for Eagles

In the second game, second place Dulles (27-6) (10-2) in district 23-5A, got past Willowridge 76-65
The Eagles close in on a 30 point deficit that Vikings built in the second half, but ran out of time.
“We got off to a great start obviously and I think we thought we had the game won after three quarters and really didn’t have a good 4th quarter but the way it looks now if we win the next game and Elkins wins today and Monday then we’re going to have a two way tie.” “We’re either going to have to play it off for second or we’re going to flip a coin, so we’ll see how that plays out and hopefully we’ll be able to play a whole game.” “It shouldn’t have been as close today but give them credit because they really kept fighting, Dulles Coach said.
They had no answer for D’Angelo Harrison who scored from just about everywhere on the court.
“We were a couple weeks ago in fourth place and lost a few games after that.” “We haven’t been playing our best ball; we haven’t played at our peek the pass three games.” “We haven’t given that performance we’ve gave all year.” “We’ve been playing in spurts, we play a quarter then we take off a quarter.” “I tell the kids we need to be consistent and play hard every game.” “It doesn’t stop this year, we’re trying to build for next year and try to get this program back on track, said Coach Roylin Wolf of Willowridge.
