At halftime, the Kashmere Fighting Rams led early on but trailed the Heights Bulldogs (4-5) by six points at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Still, the Rams found a window of opportunity and used it to its advantage.
On Tuesday evening, Guard Stilton McKelvey connected on two free throws to help the Rams survive by defeating the Bulldogs 57-56 in overtime at Drew-Brazos Court Kashmere High School Kashmere Gardens.
The Rams (4-2) tied the game, 50-all at the end of regulation to force overtime.
Head Coach Dexter Smith for Kashmere said, “The boys didn’t give up, and they did everything I asked them to.”
