“Well I was proud of the kids they fought their tales off. Flower Mound Marcus is a great football team, they played hard. I was just happy we came out on top. I’m proud of our kids and we’re ready to practice on Thanksgiving,” said Cedar Hill’s Head football Coach Joey McGuire.
A 7 yard touchdown pass to John Coleman was erased due to an illegal man down field penalty and an incomplete pass intended for Oliver Wells. The Longhorns were able to pick up 3 points on 34 yard Eduardo Camara field goal with 9:02 to go in the first quarter.

Brode Boyd was hit from behind by a sea of Longhorns forcing a fumble and recovery by Cedar Hill’s DeAndre Wynn at the Marcus 13.
Turnovers didn’t help the Marcus any.
Cedar Hill responded with a 68 yard drive to regain the ten point lead. Hayes picked up his second touchdown of the evening on 8 yard scamper.
We’ve done a good job of late, really getting started well (putting points on the board early) and its something we did again today and we’re real excited about it,” said Coach McGuire.
Moutonbs 38 yard field goal gave the Marauders some momentum going into the half down 17-10.
The turning point of the game came in the third quarter. With the game still within reach and down by 7 points. Marcus took the opening drive from their 16 down to the 28 of Cedar Hill before the play of the game that set the stage. Zach McCullough, the Longhorns defensive end exploded from the right hash unblocked and blindsided Boyd causing him to fumble the ball while Cedar Hill gain possession of the loose ball at their 40 yard line. The turnover resulted in a touchdown, stemming from a 60 yard drive that ultimately put the game on ice. The Marauders went from having a chance of tying the game to being down by two touchdowns 24-10.
Marcus picked up a late score on Cahills highlight reel one handed catch in the end zone, but it was a little too late as Cedar Hill begin to poor it on.
Cedar Hill begin to pour it on in the second half scoring 24 points to ice the game.
“The difference between regular season and this is, its a playoff, so everybody wants to keep playing. So I think everybody plays hard in the playoffs, I also think everybody wants a peace of the no. 1 ranked team in the state and we know that, we’re going to keep on playing hard,” said Coach McGuire.
