Chiney Ogwumike is the Ossports Girl Athlete of the week. The senior post that can handle the ball in open court like a point guard under pressure.
She will be making her fourth straight trip to the State Tournament.
She has led her team in scoring, rebounding and block shots.
Ogwumike had 27 points against Cypress Creek, 24 against Dallas Skyline and 17 against Bryan on Saturday.
The Cy-Fair Bobcats are one of two Houston area teams that will make up half of the girls Class 5A tournament, this is the second straight year that two area schools will represented in Austin. The other team from the Houston area is The Hightower Hurricanes lead by sophomore twins Taylor and Tyler Gilbert. Tyler Gilbert had 21 points and five block shots in a win over Bellaire for the Class 5A Region III championship Saturday at the Campbell Center.
