No.1 ranked 5A team, Aledo has its site set on another title
The Eagles of DeSoto, one of the fastest teams in the nation, will start the season atop the 2015 Ossports class 6A high school football rankings.
In the last three years, DeSoto has been in the debate of state contenders. However, falling short of its destiny has grown old. Speed, talent, and experience are strong points working in the Eagles favor paired with QB Christian Wallace, who will look to lead the Eagles.
One team who has gotten the best of DeSoto the past two seasons, the No. 2 Allen Eagles. Allen finds itself in somewhat of familiar territory. But without the service of QB Kyler Murray, now at Texas A&M. Junior quarterback Mitchell Jonke steps in to guide the Eagles.
Also, Oregon commit, dual-threat QB Seth Green, a transfer from Minnesota, will battle for playing time.
Once again the expectations are high at Aledo. The Bearcats come in as the top-ranked Class 5A team. A loaded 5A field of contenders want make it easy on the Bearcats. Including No. 2 Cedar Park, last year’s 5A Finalist.
Top ranked in each of its classes, Navasota, Cameron Yoe, and Canadian all won state titles last year, ranging from Class 4A to 2A respectfully.
