The Bears and Texans are first up this season. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Game will air live from Canton, Ohio, on ABC and ESPN at 7 pm central time today.
What can we anticipate? Demeco Ryans, the Texans’ coach, is eager to see how much the younger players have absorbed and how they will perform. The starters will have limited playtime, with the spotlight on the youth’s potential.
For the Bears, head coach Matt Eberflus will not be looking to play starters, including the top draft pick, Caleb Williams.
However, Eberflus calls competing in the Hall of Game; fortunate, and it adds more reps.
The game carries special moments concerning the Texans organization, which will watch former receiver Andre Johnson inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday. Johnson is not the only player to be inducted; six other players will be added to the list of greats. The names include Dwight Freeney, defensive end; Randy Gradishar, linebacker; Devin Hester, wide receiver; Steve McMichael, defensive tackle; Julius Peppers, defensive end; and Patrick Willis, linebacker.
