Games of the week

RR Stony Point and Trinity
highlight big Games of the Week
Euless Trinity (14-0) vs. RR Stony Point (14-0) 4 p.m. Saturday at Waco’s Floyd Casey Stadium, a rematch of last season’s semi-finals, matching Class 5A division I vs. Division II.   A hard fought 35-28 victory put the Trojans in last season’s title game.
After trailing the whole game, Trinity got a two yard touchdown run by Tevin Williams with no time left to pull out a 41-40 victory over Coppell to springboard into the Class 5A State Semifinal. The game is said to be one of the best games played in Texas High School Football History, according some of the experts.
Stony Point (14-0) up ended a great DeSoto team 72-48, in fact the two met in week three of the season where the Tigers scored 19 unanswered third quarter points to defeat the Eagles 46-29.  Much like the first meeting, but this time around it was the 2nd quarter that spelled doom for DeSoto.  A couple of turnovers with some quick scoring led to a 37-16 halftime lead for Stony Point.   Before that game was tied at 16 entering the second quarter.  A five touchdown night by Eagles Quarterback Ryan Polite was overshadowed by two interceptions that were returned for scores, one each from Lindley and Jones.  Two were passing, three rushing with 334 yards.
