Grand Oaks bounce Spring from playoffs

Both teams scramble for a lose ball

Expectations are soaring at Grand Oaks, who finished Class 6A District 14 (25-5, 15-1) with the title at its helm.

The Grizzles distinguished themselves with an 8-1 run in the initial quarter of a Bi-district contest against Spring(17-16, 11-3). They subsequently established a 15-5 lead, thanks to a few three-pointers, prompting Spring to adjust its lineup.

Following halftime, Spring implemented a full-court press, achieving a few defensive stops. The Lions managed to sink a couple of three-pointers, narrowing the gap to, 34-33 in the fourth quarter. However, Grand Oaks senior guard Ty’Tiar Price responded by stroking a trey from the baseline to extend the Grizzlies lead, 37-33 as Grand Oaks eventually advanced with a 46-37 win.
