High School baseball news

In region II it was College Park sweeping The Woodlands picking up their 5th consecutive win over the Highlanders this season. I can’t say I remember one team losing 5 times to the same team in the same season. Lufkin continues their run of good fortune disposing Klein Collins in game 3, 7-4 to move on to the regional semifinals. In region III baseball news, Katy lays down a bunt with a man on third and a bad throw to first base by Atascocita sends the Tigers to the regional semifinals against Pearland who swept Channelview two games straight. The Bellaire Cardinals over powered Memorial 6-2 and 11-6 in game 2 and 3 after losing game one 7-6. The Cardinals will face Brazoswood an 8-7 one game victory over Clear
Creek
In class 4A region III, Waltrip’s slipper is still tugging tight after knocking off favorite Lamar Consolidated In the rubber game, 8-7. The will face perennial power Brenham in the regional semifinals next week.
This might mark the first time that both Waltrip baseball team and softball team are still alive this deep in the playoffs.
Softball Action
In softball action region II Spring swept Mesquite Horn two games straight to advance to the regional finals.
In region III, Pearland stayed alive by ended Bellaire’s season in game three of the best of three series 4-3, a hard fought series between both teams. They will face Clear Creek a 4-1 victory over Katy in the rubber game for the regional title.
In class 4A region III, Waltrip beat Magnolia in a one game series 1-0. They will take on Angleton who swept Nederland in the best of three series 3-2 and 6-4.
