Miami Central pounds Dallas Madison

Five first half touchdowns too
much for Trojans to overcome

Miami Central Rockets (1-1) got a team effort to frustrate the Dallas Madison Trojans 48-6 Saturday evening at Eagle Stadium in the third of four games to be played at the site.
The Rockets complain about the Texas heat and humidity but the conditions didn’t seem to slow them down any as a matter fact they took the opening drive 69 yards in 6 plays to go up 7-0 on Devonte Freeman’s 4 yard run.
Andrae Kirk intercepted Dallas Madison’s Quarterback Bryce Pearson at the 16 yard line and was helped off the field after having his leg rolled from behind.
“This is great preparation for our kids to get in a ball game like this. This is the kind of atmosphere we wanted to be in, so we got a good feel of it, now hopefully this will be a learning experience for our kids, the coaching staff and think we’re going to bounce back we’ll be fine. Playing a school like Miami Central boy they really gave to us but our kids got value experience out of this,” said Dallas Madison’s Coach Ronald K. Johnson
On their second drive, Miami Central moved the ball 73 in 11 plays, increasing the score 14-0, after Joseph Yearby took a handoff for 6 yards.
“It’s a first class organization we had a great time, we came down to do what we do best, put on a performance. We were lack a daze because of the heat; we’re not use to that much. I thought we put on a good show. Yes we have a great talent but sometimes we get a little lack of daze and have a lot of mishaps so with talent we just have to stay on them, that’s just the nature of the beast,” said Miami Central’s Coach Telly Lockette
By halftime the Miami Central were up 34-6.
The Rockets offense totaled 510 yard and 7 touchdowns mean while Dallas Madison (2-1) finished with 216 and one touchdown.
“We just wanted to play hard, we saw the game film and we studied it. We played hard, he told us to play discipline, played our football. I felt great, I wanted to see who had good competition out in Texas,” said Miami Central’s Receiver Thomas Finnie.
