Miami Central seeks fourth consecutive 6A title

Two of Florida’s best start the season atop the 2015 Ossports national high school football rankings. St. Thomas Aquinas gets the early preseason nod for the top spot.  The Raiders lost 20 starters to graduation but have since reloaded with a host of division one talented transfers. Including QB Jake Allen, a Florida commit, who transferred from Cardinal Gibbsons and WR Trevon Grimes, a Miami commit.
Others include Dillard’s LB Tyler Dunning, a Miami commit.  WR Michael Irvin Jr., the son of Hall of Famer Dallas Cowboy’s Michael Irvin and Junior DL Kedonis Haslem, his father a former Miami Heat player, Udonis Haslem.
In addition to last season’s prospects, DL Nick Bosa, and WR Sam Bruce are back.
Known for producing NFL players, the Raiders will open at home against Dunning’s former school Dillard on August 21st. The following weekend could provide a stiff test for the Raiders when Booker T. Washington comes to town for a national telecast game set for August 28th on the ESPN Networks. Look for the Raiders to have a say in the national picture before it’s all said and done.
No. 2 Miami Central will be powered by a stiff defense in search of its fourth consecutive 6A title. Help on offense will start up front where Florida commit (6’8”, 350 pounds) OL Tahj Brighthaupt and (6’5”, 315) Navaughn Donaldson line up for the Rockets.  Opposing defenses could have its work cut out.
De La Salle rounds out the remainder of the top 25 at No. 3. 12 returning starters are back to help the Spartans start its campaign toward its sixth California open division title within the last seven seasons. Euless Trinity is expected to test De La Salle when it travels to Texas on August 29 for a live telecast on the ESPN Networks.
