Patience pays off for Bellaire

Bellaire beat Alvin 5-1 to wrap up the series and to complete an all HISD final match up. The cardinals move on to face district rival Westside a winner over Baytown Sterling in the Region III Class 5A Championship Game.
Bellaire lost game one of the best of 3 series, 3-1 to Alvin . All though there were many errors. The comeback cardinals played a more patient game 2 and 3 to take the sting out of the yellow jackets., Bellaire was very patient at the plate waiting for good pitches.
For most of the series Bellaire played catch up spotting Alvin a 6-1 lead in the 5th inning. Thatbs when the cardinals put together a rally and begin to chip away scoring a couple of runs in the bottom of the 5th. Bellaire took game two 7-6.
In game three Bellaire took a 1-0 lead on a sac fly. After a couple of scoreless innings the yellow jackets got something going in the top of 4th. When Mo Guisto lead off with a single. That’s when Gross step up and belted a fast ball over the left field fence.
Bellaire answered in the bottom of the 4th with a few runs and went on to win the game three 5-2.
