Inclimate weather delayed the start of the game by 90 minutes, which ended at 11:59 pm. But the weather conditions had no bearing on the Cowboy’s participation. Miscues and penalties played a role.

Dak Prescott had thrown two interceptions and fumbled once, all in Pittsburgh’s territory, and the Cowboys trailed 17-13 with less than a minute left.

However, Prescott overcame a nightmare evening, connecting with Jalen Tolbert on a four-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with 20 seconds to play, and the Cowboys walked away smiling with a thrilling 20-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night at Acrisure Stadium.

Though the offense struggled, Prescott held his composure, throwing for 352 yards on 29-of-42, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and a fumble. Two turnovers came in the red zone, ending the possibility of adding points.

With the winning drive covering 70 yards in 15 plays, Dallas increased its all-time series against the Steelers, 19-16.

Protection up front gave Prescott time to find Tolbert, who ran a crossing pattern from right to left with Steelers’ safety DeShon Elliot trailing. Tolbert made the catch, holding the ball firmly as Elliot tackled him in the end zone.

Afterward, a relieved Prescott celebrated with the rest of the Cowboys, who showered the field.

The Steelers (3-2) trailed most of the game before taking the lead with 4:56 left following Joey Porter Jr.’s interception. Justin Fields, who finished 15-of-27 with 131 yards, led a 63-yard drive, tossing a six-yard shovel pass to tight end Pat Freiermuth as Pittsburgh regained the lead, 17-13.

Without star players DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons, Dallas held the Steelers to 226 total yards and three first-half points.
