Ford Stadium to be filled with plenty of action

Dallas – As summer rolls on and the temperatures across Texas rise, one can now think of more than just the usual pastime sports, such as baseball, softball and track & field.  Add recently new 7 on 7 football to the list of upcoming summertime sporting events.  Teams battle competitively in t-shirts and shorts, as they work to polish their skills, timing and execution.
The Red Bull Game Breakers are back for another exciting year of 7 on 7 action, the tournament will feature the top two finishers from 16 locations nationwide, with a chance to take home the title.  (Set for July 15 & 16 at the Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas).
Five of the 16 locations are in Texas, including Austin (Round Rock HS), Dallas (Cedar Hill), Fort Worth (OD Wyatt HS), Houston (Alief Taylor HS) and San Antonio (South HS).  All qualifying rounds took place last month.
For all who don’t know what the Red Bull Game Breakers are all about, it’s simply football with more game.  For instance, quarterbacks have four seconds to get rid of the ball or it results in a loss of downs, and there are no handoffs, only passing.
This year’s Game Breakers promises to be bigger and better with the addition of more teams and talent.  Many Division I players are expected to be participating in the high-pace thrill ride.
Last year’s winner, St. Augustine Purple Knights (New Orleans) took home the first Annual Red Bull Game Breakers Title.  Led by star wide out Mark Edwards, the Knights  didn’t disappoint in the Lone Star state.  Fans watched St. Augustine defeat Cy-Fair (Houston) in the championship game.
