Brown and the Taylors’ serve notice
in victory over the Eagles
A team effort helps Lamar Freshman to an easy victory over the Eisenhower Eagles Friday evening at Eisenhower High School.
“The first game went really well we had good serves, our passes were their, we were moving in transition off the net. The second game didn’t go quite so well, we got a little bit ahead of our selves, our heads got a little big. As the points started going up our momentum started going down so we had to find somewhere to dig from. Third game went perfect it was 25-5. The girls really push through to take it to that next level to finish off competition,” said Lamar’s Coach Amy Downing.
Mackenzie Brown, Jabria Taylor and Jada Taylor served as thorn in the Eagles side. Constantly attacking from the net with strong play was a problem that Eisenhower couldn’t solve.
Jada Taylor did a wonderful job of hustling to the ball on her sets.
Brown added crucial serves while Jabria served and did a great job of attacking the net.
“We’re really young and have four or five girls that haven’t played before so we’re working on transitioning and moving around the court. But we’re making great progress in only our second game of the year. We’re making great strides in getting our rotation down and putting every body’s cohesiveness together on the court. It requires a lot of work as far as patience’s, it’s the main thing. Though their freshmen they still have to know all what the varsity knows,” said Lamar’s Coach Downing.
