<h2><span style="font-family: Calibri;">National powers schools look to match wits with Texas schools</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">With the completion of regional competition, the stage is set for the 2012 Red Bull Game Breakers 7-on-7 Tournament championship, which will take place at Jesuit College Preparatory High school in Dallas, on July 12-13.  </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">Normally advancing, are the top two teams from each region, but due to some teams unable to make the trip to Texas, for unspecified reasons, a few changes have been made.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The tournament is represented by 174 teams, 3100 high football school players and has 10 regions, including (Austin, Birmingham, Dallas, Denver, Fort Worth, Houston, Kansas City, New Orleans, San Antonio, San Diego, and Tulsa).   </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The following have won its respective region, but some want make the trip to Texas.  La Costa Canyon advanced through the San Diego region.  Evangel Christian Academy of Shreveport, Louisiana marks the first non-Texas school to advance through a Texas region by defeating Arlington Sequin 24-5 in the Fort Worth Region Final to earn a spot in Dallas. Because of earlier scheduling conflicts with the New Orleans region, the Eagles made its way to Texas.  Cy-Fair, by winning the Houston qualifiers, is in Dallas for second time since losing in the 2010 final to Louisiana power St. Augustine two years ago.   Rounding out other winners, Stony Point/Austin, Cedar Hill/Dallas, Broken Arrow/Oklahoma, Shawnee Mission West/Kansas City, Chatfield/Denver, Tishomingo/Birmingham.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><strong>After some changes, here&#8217;s a list of updates.</strong>  </span></span></p>
<h1><strong><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Dallas – Cedar Hill &amp; Hebron<br />
</span></span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Oklahoma – Midwest City &amp; Edison<br />
Kansas City – Blue Valley North<br />
Louisiana &#8211; McMain<br />
Pittsburgh &#8211; Clairton</span></span></strong></h1>
<h3><strong></strong> </h3>
<h3><strong>Austin/San Antonio – Stony Point, Georgetown, Temple &amp; Warren</strong><br />
<strong></strong></h3>
<h3><strong>Houston – Cy-Fair, Manvel &amp; Kashmere</strong><br />
<strong></strong></h3>
<h3><strong>Ft. Worth – Evangel Christian, Arlington, Arlington Seguin, Arlington Martin, Desoto</strong><br />
<strong>&amp; John Tyler</strong><br />
<strong></strong></h3>
<h3><strong>Florida – Columbus</strong></h3>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Texas stands in with 14 of the 21 teams involved, led by three Arlington schools, which are Arlington, Arlington Martin, Arlington Sequin, Cedar Hill, Cy-Fair, Desoto, Georgetown, Hebron, John Tyler, Kashmere, Manvel, Stony Point, Temple and Warren.  Behind Texas with two teams, Louisiana sends powers Evangel Christian and McMain.  </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">For all who’s not familiar with Red Bull Game Breakers 7-on-7 motto, it’s simply football with more game, according to Red Bull.  Like many other 7-on-7 tournaments, it’s a chance to showcase skill, ability and to measure national talent as young athletes stay polished for the up-coming season.  </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Red Bull Game Rules </span></strong><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">If teams are tied after the third overtime, first downs will be the first determining factor and that’s locked, then the team with the most defensive stops in the red zone.</span><br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Rules for penalties are as followed: </span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Defense pass interference = Automatic first down and spot foul.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Offense pass interference = Previous spot and loss of down.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Defensive holding = Automatic first down and 5 yards from original line of scrimmage.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Illegal procedure (offense) = Loss of down.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Defensive off-sides = 5 yard penalty.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong>Delay of game = Loss of down.</strong></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong>Fighting / unsportsmanlike conduct (INDIVIDUAL PLAYER): 1st offense = ejection from game.  2nd offense = ejection from tournament.</strong></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong>Fighting / unsportsmanlike conduct (TEAM): if any player leaves the sideline to participate in an on-field fight, the ENTIRE TEAM WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE TOURNAMENT.</strong></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Personal Foul: Offense = loss of down and 5 yards from original line of scrimmage. Defense = 1st down and 5 yards from original line of scrimmage.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">In the event there is defensive holding and a sack on the same play, the defense will be penalized according to the above and the sack will be ignored.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">The game is separated into two 10-minute non-stop halves.  There no time-outs, unless for injuries.  Teams have five minute halftimes and 10-minutes between games.</span></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Red Bull Game Breakers tournaments require that all games start/end at the same time.  If a team(s) is (are) late and cannot start when the tournament officially starts, they will begin play with whatever time is left on the tournament clock.  (Not to exceed 5 minutes of 1st half.  Forfeit will occur after 5 minutes of the 1st half) IT IS IMPERATIVE TO KEEP TO THE TOURNAMENT TIME SCHEDULE. Teams must be on site and ready to play when scheduled). Injury time outs may reduce the amount of time between halves and/or between games to maintain the game schedules.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">There is <strong>No kicking/punting</strong>.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Field is marked at 15 yard intervals with cones.  (3 first downs without a penalty would result in a TD).</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Possession always begins at the 45 yard line at the right hash.  No penalty will be assessed in excess of the 45 yard line.  If a penalty would move the offense beyond the 45 yard line, the offensive team shall be charged with a loss of down.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Offenses always move in the same direction.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">NO PASSER MAY RUN WITH THE BALL.  ALL PASSES MUST BE FORWARD.  A pass caught behind the line must be forward.  The only laterals that will be allowed will be laterals that occur AFTER the completion of a forward pass.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Red Bull recommends 10-players per team but allows its max to be 20.</span></span><br />
