Boston fans turn Fenway into a party

Boston – There is no party like a Fenway Party, because the Red Sox put to rest 95 years of clinching a World Series at home by bringing one to the house.
The streets of New England filled with excited fans full of jubilation after David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 in game 6 of the World Series Championship on Wednesday night at Fenway Park.
The win gave the Red Sox its third championship in the last ten years.
Ortiz, who walked four times, was hard to miss for the MVP award after going 11-for-16 with two home runs and six RBIs during the series.
95 years had passed but this night was special as a home crowd of 38,447 danced, cheered and shouted until relief pitcher Koji Uehara struck out Matt Carpenter to end the game.
John Lackey got the win, allowing a run while working 6-2/3 innings.
Boston won the other two titles in 2004 by beating the Cardinals and Colorado Rockies in 2007.
For the Cardinals, who had seen enough of Ortiz, walked the slugger four times, three intentionally. Other than that, they had no answer.
