What’s next for the No. 3 TCU (13-1), which stunned the No. 2 seed Michigan and Big Ten Champion, 51-45, at the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, on the last day of 2022? The Wolverines’ season ends at (13-1).
The stakes are top level. However, who knows what to expect from this group of Horned Frogs? After what fans witnessed on Saturday evening, the Georgia/Ohio State victor won’t be surprised.
Cinderella, dressed in purple and white and hoping to party for the first time since 1938, will face the Bulldogs for the fifth time in school history at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on January 09, 2023.
In its previous four meetings, the Horned Frogs failed to win any, and Georgia pulled out a 31-23 victory in the last contest in 2016. The first meeting happened in 1942 when Georgia claimed a 40-27 win. The Horned Frogs also dropped a 34-3 decision in 1980 and 38-10 in 1988.
After taking down Kansas State, 38-28 in conference play, the Horned frogs met a much improved Wildcat team in the Big 12 Championship game, where it lost in overtime, 31-28. Still, the Horned Frogs landed in the four-team championship rotation.
Taking down No.1 Georgia (14-0) is a task. Unlike its opponents in the Big 12, Georgia won last year’s national championship. It survived its semifinal contest by edging a talented Ohio State team, 42-41, who did everything to win the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Bulldogs’ perfect season included running away with the SEC Championship trophy by thumping LSU 50-30.
