Two teams that featured high powered offenses averaged almost 44 points a contest was slowed by defense in the second half.
Linebacker Tank Carder batted down a 2-point conversion attempt with 2:00 minutes to go, in frustrating the Wisconsin Badgers while sending No.3 TCU to an undefeated season with a thrilling 21-19 victory Saturday night in the Rose Bowl. The Horn Frogs were not only playing for themselves but for all the small school who thought they may not get the opportunity.
Senior Andy Dalton, a Katy Graduate guided the Horn Frogs with 217 yards on 15/23 attempts through the air with a touchdown and no INT.
TCU (13-0) took a one point lead into halftime, 14-13. But as the second half unfolded the Horn Frogs used their quickness and speed to offset a huge Badger offensive line that opened holes that a car could drive through.
Wisconsin mounted a 77 yard drive that fail to tie the game when Carder read the quarterback’s eyes and batted down a pass intended for wide open Jacob Pedersen. The Horn Frogs then ran out the clock.

In early action the Taylor Potts pass for 369 yards, four touchdowns and scored on a trick play as the Red Raiders of Texas Tech held on for 45-38 victory over Northwestern in the inaugural TicketCity Bowl.
Potts was 43/56 with one INT.
Up by three touchdowns in the third quarter, Tech (8-5) avoided a late comeback with an interception to close out the win.
The lost handed the Wildcats (7-6) their eighth straight bowl lost in school history.
