Three crucial mistakes deal Pittsburgh a knockout blow

Rogers on point after waiting three years
Arlington, TX – Outside linebacker Clay Matthews III dealt the Steelers their worst setback, rushing in from the left side hitting Rashard Mendenhall on the arm, jarring the ball loose for the fumble that eventually turned into a 28-17 Packers lead.
Three turnovers and 21 points helped the Green Bay Packers defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 Sunday night at Cowboy Stadium in Super Bowl XLV.
The win close the door on a 14 year Super Bowl drought for the Packers and also was the 13th NFL Title to go along with their fourth Super Bowl.
In what was tabbed as a defensive battle, the Packers (14-6) took advantage of two plays to lead the Steelers 14-0 early in the game.
Aaron Rogers found Jordy Nelson to put the Packers up 7-0 and a 37 yard interception return by safety Nick Collins increased the lead 14-0.  The play was made possible by a nose tackle Howard Green who pushed his way through two linemen while getting a hand on Ben Roethlisberger forcing the ball to fall short.
Rogers play making ability stood tall for Green Bay, the MVP completed 24/39 for 304 yards and three touchdowns including a 29 yard strike to Nelson who finished with nine receptions for 140 yards.  Jennings had two touchdown grabs of 21 and 8 yards.
The Steelers (14-5) answered with a drive of their own after being stopped a couple possessions before.
Trailing 21-3 with less a minute to go before halftime, Roethlisberger tossed an 8 yard strike to Hinds Ward to finished off a 77 yard drive.
A fired Steelers team took the opening drive of the second half 77 yards, cutting the lead 21-17 on Mendenhall’s 8 yard touchdown run up the middle.
Roethlisberger’ 25 yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace and the two point conversion pitchout to Randle El closed the gap to three, 28-25 with 7:34 to go.  That gave light to the Steelers.  But after Packers Mason Crosby’s 23 yard field goal, Pittsburgh were out of answers.
Roethlisberger was 25/40 for 263 yards, two touchdowns and two INTs.
