Will nine starters on defense be enough for Florida State
The Tide will open as the early top team in college football’s top 25, but beyond that, little else is known. However, only time will reveal if Alabama can stay atop the rankings after opening the season against a potential top five team in Florida State.
With nine starters back on defense, the Seminoles could prove to be a stiff problem for the Tide.
USC could find itself among the top five with a probable first round draft pick in Heisman favorite, Sam Darnold with surrounding talent to add balance. The Trojans will call on Darnold to lead this group through a tough PAC 12 Conference.
Ohio State, Clemson and Penn State are all potential candidates that may factor in the top five.
