Banks, Tomball shut out A&M Consolidated in game one

 
Tomball’s Nick Banks struck out 11 Batters and drove in two runs in a 5-0 shut over A&M Consolidated in the Class 5A Region II Semifinals in game one of the best-of-three series Thursday night at Tomball High School.
The series moves to A&M Consolidated for game two, tonight at 7:00 P.M. A win tonight will move the Cougars into the regional Finals where they will face the winner of Austin McNeil/Bryan next week.
It’s not unusual to see Banks produce on the mound and at the plate.
First year Coach Doug Rush have helped the Cougars advanced to the Class 5A Region III Semifinals for the first time in school history.   
 
 
 
 
 
Hoang’s big catch saves game for Kempner
 
Jordan Hoang’s diving catch in the eighth inning turned out to be a game saver, in Kempner’s 5-3 defeat of Cy-Creek in the Class 5A Region III Semifinals, in game one of the best-of-three series at Cougar Field.
Connor Teykl got the win for Kempner in the ten inning affair, while Christian Rivera absorbed the lost for the Cougars.  Game two is set for Friday at 7:30 P.M. at Cougar Field.
Teykl helped himself at the plate with three hits and one RBI. Teammate, Frick added three hits and 2-RBIs
Christian Rivera pitched 9 1/3 inning while surrendering five runs, nine hits, a walk and four strikeouts.
Kempner picked up a run in the first, second and fifth to led 3-0, until Cy-Creek scored three in the sixth.
Kempner added a run in the first, second and fifth innings to lead 3-0, before the Cougars scratched back in the sixth to tie it at three.
