Just ahead of the playoffs, many teams gear up for what the post-season has in store. No need to look for drastic changes in Class 6A. Austin Westlake holds down the No. 1 spot in Class 6A, followed by No. 2 Southlake Carroll, No. 3 Katy, and No. 4 Duncanville round out the top 10.

Ossports No. 3 nationally ranked Chaps could see its stiffest test of the season when rival Lake Travis rolls in for a Friday night battle. Westlake’s last loss came in 2019 at the hands of the Cavaliers. However, its current streak stands at 32.

Backup quarterback Christian Edgar has filled in well for five-star quarterback Cade Klubnik, who injured his non-throwing shoulder in a win against Bowie. He could return before the playoffs. During Edgar’s time at the helm, the Chaps have averaged 70 points a game. He is responsible for over 600 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and no interceptions through three games. In his first start, Edgar took the field against Hays and racked up 292 yards on 10-of-11 attempts and six touchdowns.

Denton Ryan stands atop Class 5A Division I, followed by No. 2 College Station, who will play host to No. 10 Magnolia West with a district title and playoff seedings on the line. No. 3 Highland Park kept its season in check after dropping the first game, 45-21, to Southlake Carroll.
