Evans is excited about this year’s team but needs to fill holes on defense

QB James Jones will be
expected to lead the Eagles

Eisenhower’s Coach Ray Evans shared his thoughts about his teams out look and realignment with the Alief Schools.
The Eagles should be solid on offense with eight starters back led by their QB James Jones. The offense will have a balanced attack after the dual threat James led the district in rushing (760 yards and 10 TDs) and passing (100-176 for 1,300 yards 9 INTs, 7 TDs) last season. James will look to pair up with RB Trevion Cook who should help right away.
The question mark is the defense with only four starters back. The secondary will be called on to help with three of the four starters back until more support comes.
More help is expected to come from LB Jalante Jones (6-3 205, 4.7), DE Stanley Chatman (6-3 240, 4.9) and LB Gayron Booker.
“We are looking for some good things to happen but it will be interesting being in a new district. Last year we played Elsik it was a real tough ball game that we won 14-0 but they wore us out with their size. So it’s going to be one of those types of districts from week to week. Last year Alief Taylor beat Aldine in the third round of the playoffs and that club is pretty good again,” said Eisenhower’s Coach Ray Evans.
