The Buffalo’s accumulated 20 points in the first race of the day, 4X100 Meter Relay (40.07) and never looked back. Manvel gave its best effort but wasn’t able to answer.
In addition, the Buffalo’s won all three relays, including the 4X200 (1:24.08) and the 4X400 (3:16.18). Stubblefield took second place in 100 Meter Dash (10.37), Devon Achane won the 200 Meter Dash (21.40) and teammate Dalevon Campbell took bronze, clocking (21.92). Matthias Petterway won the 300 hurdles (38.02).
On Friday, the 4X100 Meter Relay team clocked a (39.99) in the preliminaries.
Next up for the Buffalo’s, a trip to Austin where it will seek a state title on May 10th at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
In 5A girls action
Hightower Lady Eagles use a team effort to tally 88 points in taking home the Class 5A Region III Title. The victory outdistanced rival Marshall by 22 points and Montgomery by 24.
Chelsie Shelling finished first in the 100 Meter Hurdles (14.28), Imari Chatman took silver in the 300 Hurdles (44.74), Cesley Williams finished the 400 Meter Dash in third (25.07), Cynai Christopher won the 200 Meter Dash (25.00) and Destini Lomnard legged (19-3) to win the Long Jump.
Cedar Park’s Meghan Wilcox picked up silver medals in the 100 (11.77) and 200 Meter Dash (25.06). Marble Falls Bailey Goggans earned gold in the 400 (55.42) and the 800 Meter Run (2:11.01).
